The day commemorating the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers

On the night of July 16–17, 2026, for the first time at the Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God in Jacksons Point, Ontario, Canada, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated on the day commemorating the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers. With the blessing of the Archbishop of Montreal and Canada, the service was led by the rector of the parish, Archpriest Maksim. After the Liturgy, the rector and parishioners held a Cross Procession to the chapel built for the 100th anniversary of the martyrdom of the Royal Passion-Bearers. A moleben to the Holy Royal Martyrs was then served. At the conclusion of the moleben, Fr. Maksim delivered a sermon.

On July 12, the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the Royal Family also took place. A special guest, Paul Gilbert — researcher and author of journals and books about Nicholas II — visited the exhibition and gave a lecture titled “Myths and Lies About the Royal Family.” We present a photo report.
