The All-Night Service took place on January 6 at the Church of the Smolensk icon of the Mother of God. On the night of Christmas, the rector of the parish, reverend Fr. Maxim served as a night Liturgy in a church full of Orthodox parishioners. On the Sunday following the holiday, on January 13, a Christmas tree and a solemn dinner were organized for children and adults. One hundred and fifty people gathered together in a banquet hall near the temple. The representative of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Toronto, Consul-Counselor Cherkasov C.S. attended the event.
Pupils of the newly opened Sunday school, children’s folklore collective “Ladushka”, children of parishioners gave a concert. And, of course, Ded Moroz (Russian Santa Claus) and his granddaughter Snegurochka gave Christmas gifts to children gathered around Christmas Tree. We express our gratitude to the organizers of the holiday!
On January 18-19, the Great Consecration of Water took place on the celebration of the Holy Theopanly (Baptism of the Lord).
